Dora Lee

Dora Fugh Lee was born in 1930 into the Manchu family in Beijing, China, where she studied guohua under Yan Shaoxiang, beginning at the age of eleven.

In 1949 she went with her husband to Japan, where she worked as an illustrator. She continued to study art in Japan. In 1957 she settled in Washington, DC where she studied sculpture under Pietro Lazzari, and continued her work as an amateur painter. She has exhibited at Peers’ Club, Tokyo; China Institute, New York; Pacific Gallery, Hong Kong; Franz Bader Gallery, Washington, DC; Courtyard Gallery, Beijing.
