William Starkweather, 1879-1969, was an American Impressionist painter. He was a student of Joaquin Sorolla in Spain and John Henry Twachtman, Kenyon Cox and J. Carroll Beckwith at the Art Students League in New York City. Edward Hopper was his neighbor and painting friend in Washington Square Park, NYC, NY. Among his many students are Luigi Lucioni, Paul Cadmus and Wilford Conrow.
