Roger Bruhn is a well-known professional photographer based in Lincoln, Nebraska. In the print shown in this exhibit, he has commented that the view is to the west, with Faucus Springs in the foreground and Chimney Rock, a famous monument on the Oregon Trail of 150 years ago, in the distance. This view looks right down the Oregon Trail.
He studied Philosophy and English at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. His work has been included in numerous regional exhibitions and is in the permanent collections of the Sheldon Museum of Art, the Joslyn Art Museum and the Museum of Nebraska Art and the New Britain (CT) Museum of American Art, among others. In 1990, his book Dreams in Dry Places, a monograph containing 118 photographs of architecture, was published by the University of Nebraska Press. In 2008 he received the Mayor’s Arts Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement in the Visual Arts. He lives in Lincoln, Nebraska.
