Israeli artist Keren Paz’s latest series of work focuses on the landscapes of her native country Israel. Through paintings she reduces the landscape to it’s basic elements and in essence strips it right back to glorious fields of colour that hover above and below the horizon which is a constant motif in Paz’s work. ‘There is something very strong about the vast colour fields. They carry the quality of a silent and ambiguous desire craving to be fulfilled; It is this ambiguous desire that I want to reveal in my painting’. Karen Paz.
Keren Paz completed her undergraduate studies in Fine Art at The School of Visual Arts in New York City and has exhibited in Tel-Aviv, Pittsburg, Australia and New York City.
