Keith Ragone

Born in 1954 in Vineland, Keith Ragone was educated at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In 1998, Ragone was awarded a Ballinglen Arts Foundation Artist Residency in Ireland. He has also received fellowship and scholarship awards from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

The titles of Keith Ragone’s paintings allude repeatedly to water environments; swamp, salt marsh, foam, the sea, and hint at close observation of nature near his rural New Jersey home. At the same time, these large oil paintings and smaller oil-on-gessoed-paper works are also fully, knowingly abstract.

Since 1977, his work has been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Ragone’s work is in many selected collections including those of Chase Manhattan in NYC, Buchanan Ingersoll, Duane Morris & Heckscher, Greitzer & Locks, Knipes Cohen, and Provident Mutual Trust in Philadelphia, PA.
