I make work that relates to the body. Exploring familiar gestures though paint that is poured, pushed, dripped, brushed, folded, picked, sprayed, peeled, tucked and wrapped to develop paintings, objects, drawings and installations. Synthetic colors, glitter, and interference pigments, reminiscent of cosmetics, pile on-to, butt up against, and wrap around fleshy neutral shapes and lines. My work, both sculptural and image based existing in a space between being painting and sculpture. Skins of paintings lay on the floor, to be actively viewed in the round like a sculpture. Sculptures that are anchored to the wall, to resist that same tradition and insist on being approached as paintings.
