Kara Patrowicz

Artist Bio

I grew up on Long Island and now live and work in Maynard, MA. I received my B.F.A in Painting from Boston University, Post-Baccalaureate in Studio Art from Brandeis University and M.FA. in 2-D Media from MassArt. My original training was in traditional oil painting and drawing, but during my time at MassArt I branched out into the world of mixed media and fibers.

I am a 2007 Fulbright Grant recipient in Painting and a 2019 nominee for the St. Botolph Club Foundation Emerging Artist Award. I worked as an Artist-in-Residence at Boston Children’s Hospital from 2010-2014 and my work is in private collections throughout the U.S. I’ve displayed in solo and group exhibits in Massachusetts, New York, Texas and Ireland and my work has received awards at the Chandler Gallery in Cambridge, MA and the Concord Center for the Visual Arts in Concord, MA. I am a member of ArtsWorcester, Concord Art and 6 Bridges Gallery.
