Jennifer Smith Rogers (formerly Jennifer Lynn Smith) is a lifelong resident of South Carolina. She received a fine arts degree at Clemson University where she was awarded a Citation of Outstanding Achievement by the Visual Art Department. Since then, she has been part of a number of traveling exhibits and gallery exhibits alike. In addition, Jennifer has attained the recognition of collectors in the U.S. and Abroad. Corporate collections include the Harbor Club of Charleston and The Medical University of South Carolina. Through her painting, she has taken statewide awards, including the Second Place award in 1996 at the Piccolo Spoleto Visual Arts Exhibit in Charleston, SC.
Rogers’ painterly, realistic style reflects an influence of Fairfield Porter and Edward Hopper. Similar to these artists, her subjects include the landscape and architecture which are familiar to her and close at hand. She approaches these subjects with a bold, direct approach, which charges her paintings with light and color.
