Acclaimed painter Jake Berthot is a largely self-taught artist who has been exhibiting in solo and group shows (including the Venice Biennial and two Whitney Biennials) since the late Sixties. He has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, an NEA Grant, and an Elizabeth Foundation Grant, among many others. His work can be found in numerous public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Whitney Museum, and the Yale University Art Gallery, where he taught painting for ten years. Presently, Berthot teaches at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
