Eric Standley

Eric Standley is an internationally recognized artist known for his multi-layered cut paper artwork using his unique CNC laser process. His work has been exhibited in over one hundred and twenty galleries and museums around the world and are a part of many national and international collections including the Palace of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the Scherenschnitt Museum, Germany and the Zupi Collection of São Paulo, Brazil. In 2018 he began working with scientists to investigate chromatin architecture and DNA fractal geometries. From these investigations he has created artifacts that use fractal configurations from the most profoundly universal building blocks of life.

Eric is a Professor of Studio Art at Virginia Tech University where he teaches laser cutting and engraving studio practices. He is represented by Victori + Mo in New York City, the Marta Hewett Gallery and Media Force of Tokyo, Japan. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Art and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
