I have a hungry eye–whether it is a moment of sun raking across a marsh, an arrow-shaped crane silhouetted across the sky, or perhaps, a face quickly seen or carefully studied. In our world, constantly evolving and devolving, I need to freeze these moments in the process of placing paint. – Eleanor Goldstein
Eleanor Goldstein was commissioned to paint a 19-foot high mural in the Columbarium of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC (later destroyed in the 2001 fire). She was also honored to be chosen for the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies Program.
Among others, she is included in the Pfizer and IBM collections, and was recently shown in the Noyes and Monmouth Museums in New Jersey, and in the Butler Institute of Art in Youngstown, Ohio.
She lives and works in New York.
