I was born May 18, 1938 and have lived in the DC area for most of my life, with the exception of 8 years in Colorado from 1976 to 1984. I decided that I was an artist when I was in second grade. I’ve been married since 1960 and have two sons and three grandchildren. We’ve travelled throughout Europe and Japan.
I am drawn to the things of childhood–games, toys, especially with wheels, and dolls. Inspired by dreams, folk and fairy tales, poems, and mystical writings, I make paintings, constructions, and unique books. My favorite artists are Paul Klee, Joseph Cornell, Max Ernst, and the anonymous artists who illustrated the books of old Persia and Medieval Europe; and my favorite music is Bach (fugues), Beethoven (string quartets), and Celtic and Middle Eastern music (where I my parents came from). I practice Yoga and meditate everyday.
