Douglas David

Artist Statement
Painting brings me joy and fulfillment. It allows me to be true to myself, following my heart to do work that I love. It inspires me to create paintings that connect with people sharing warmth, comfort and a sense of peace.

Biography
Douglas David has painted his way across the country, capturing the beauty and spirit of the things he loves- tranquil country landscapes, sunrises and sunsets on his favorite beaches, a simple pitcher of spring lilacs or peonies, a slice of watermelon on a checkered tablecloth. His paintings are beautiful, simple and timeless. An Honors Graduate of Herron School of Art/Indiana University, Douglas also studied for a number of years with Frank Mason, famed instructor from the Art Students League of New York. A recipient of numerous regional and national awards and honors, Douglas’ teaching is a way of giving back and sharing some of his journey with those who choose to study with him. Douglas recently delivered an original Oil painting of Indiana Peonies to Second Lady, Karen Pence for the Vice President’s residence.
