Cohn Drennan graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design. In 1986, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas, where he also worked as a teaching fellow for almost three years.
In 2010, Cohn Drennan opened Cohn Drennan Contemporary in Dallas, Texas. Previously, Mr. Drennan was the Director of the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State University from 2005 through 2010. Prior to his position at WFMA, Mr. Drennan was the Deputy Director of the United States Department of State, Art in Embassies Program, in Washington, DC.
