Aida Muluneh was born in 1974 in Ethiopia. She received a BA in film, radio and TV from Howard University in 2001. Since then, she has worked as a freelance photographer and founded DESTA (Developing and Educating Societies through the Arts), an organization that seeks to develop opportunities in the global community for African artists throughout the diaspora.
