Abel Warshawsky was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania in 1883 and was raised in Cleveland where he studied at the local Art Institute. He continued his studies in New York at the Art Students League and National Academy of Design before leaving for France where he would enjoy tremendous success. With the onset of WW II, Warshawsky returned to the United States and settled in Carmel, where he died in 1962, best remembered for his pure, Impressionist landscapes.
