Born in 1964 in Mill Valley, California, Dante Marioni, received his education at the Pilchuch Glass School (co-founded by Dale Chihuly) in Washington, the Colorado Mountain College in Vail, and the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina. In 1988, he was awarded the the Young Americans Award by the American Craft Museum in New York, and proir to that he received the prestigious Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award and the Glass Eye Scholarship. His work is displayed in numerous public collections such as the White House Collection, The National Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the Japanese National Museum of Craft in Tokyo, the New Zealand National Museum in Auckland, and the National Museum of Stockholm.
